Can I easily get a job faster in California than I do Chicago? Are taxes in California less than Illinois?

Chicago Illinois
Mrs. Omarion asked:

I really want to get a job in California and I want to know would I get hired faster there than I would in Chicago say if I apply for jobs in California in the fall? I realize that in Illinois/Chicago, the taxes are extremely high, and I wanted to know are taxes in California cheaper and lesser than Chicago/Illinois or are they equal. I understand that in Indiana, taxes are cheaper there and Vegas you don’t have to pay any taxes. I really want to work in California and would like to know would I get hired and get a job faster than in Chicago? I am looking at working in Los Angeles because they have beautiful weather all year long as well as Chicago, where it gets extremely cold. Would I get the job faster than in Chicago since it is where I’m from and I really don’t like Chicago at all and would like to move someplace warm where I don’t have to wear a winter coat all the time. I would love to work in Los Angeles CA, and want to know, would I be able to find a job there?

The answer to this question largely depends on the industry you want to work in and the position you are seeking. Without that information it’s difficult to say how hard or easy it would be for you to find the job you are looking for.

Depends on you! As for taxes, they’re MUCH higher in California.

your best bet is to contact the local chamber of commerences in the areas you are thinking of and they can help you get all the info you would need…..they have a ton of resources..the other thing would be to do a search for a realtor in the area your thinking of and they will be a great resource in letting you know tax prices and what business and schools are around…

I guess that would depend on your profession. If you are looking for work in a popular field, you may have stiff competition. The cost of living is higher, I don’t know about taxes, but a one bedroom apt. goes for $700.00 a month.
